Counseling Approach

My approach to therapy is trauma informed, gentle, compassionate and empathetic.  I tend to be direct, yet kind, and work to create a warm atmosphere where you feel welcome and comfortable to be your authentic self. I also like to laugh a lot and have fun. We can bring some levity to the heavy experiences. It’s important to me that you feel respected, seen, heard and held. I believe it is a sign of strength to ask for help, and I’m really glad you’re here.

I have experience treating a wide variety of mental health concerns including anxiety and depression and have completed specialized trainings in supporting folks recovering from eating disorders, postpartum mood and anxiety disorders and those recovering from traumatic experiences. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am working toward certification.

I’m also passionate about personal growth and human dignity no matter race, gender identity, religious beliefs, creed or economic status. I strive to keep myself humble with ongoing ethical, cultural and evidenced-based education all while doing my own personal growth work.

I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. Check out this page for more information on my specialties.
